ABOUT J-FROST

Capturing the essence of J-Frost in a single title is hard. The multi-hyphenated Brooklyn native’s streams of interest vary from marketing to music, from design to apparel, from jewelry to food. And with the Midas touch and firm determination, J-Frost has been able to turn his multiple points of interest into various streams of income.

Born in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, the grit of the city was ingrained in J-Frost, born Jason Adams, at a young age. The youngest of 2 sons, Jason made a name for himself in the neighborhood as the kid who wore a lot of jewelry. By the time he was 14, the nickname that would define his life as a jeweler was already coined: J-Frost. A prophecy of the career he was destined for.

Jason’s entrepreneur spirit surfaced as a child. While his peers were playing video games, he was setting up his future, selling comic books, baseball cards, and custom accessories at flea markets. Soon after he began exploring his love for merchandise design, he released his clothing collection, Frost Wear, while simultaneously building a local buzz as a musician and songwriter of the same name, J-Frost.

“I have believed in myself since I was 14 years old,” says Jason. “I have always been a hustler.”

After graduating from Lincoln High School, Jason took on jobs in sales to sharpen his pitch and business savvy. It was shortly after this time that he linked up with his jeweler and friend Greg Yuna in a business capacity, eventually joining the brand as Yuna’s creative partner and right hand to lend his talent to the brand’s trajectory. Together, they have worked on branded collaborations with internationally known brands like FILA, Puma, Nike and more.

After finding his stride in the jewelry world, Jason tapped back into his brands, and re-released a newly minted version of the Frost Wear of his adolescent; the matured “The Frost Collection.” The release was punctuated by a billboard snipe activation around the streets of New York featuring the brand’s signature snowflake, a visual that became a popular Instagram backdrop.

The J-Frost design streak continued with a collaboration with Pintrill, aptly titled Borough Bred, a five-piece collection that pays homage to the city that raised him and its subsequent boroughs. The collection sold out on three occasions, receiving press in publications like Daily News, Brooklyn Radio, and the likes.

Since its introduction, The Frost collection has grown to include a number of successful in-demand capsule collections. Designs including  phrases like “Your Loss,” “No Second Chances,” “The Old You,” “I Don’t Love You Anymore” which have been worn by celebs like Wiz Khalifa, Vashtie, Ben Baller, radio host and personality Charlamange Tha God, Dennis Graham, Shah’s of Sunset’s Jessica Parido, Spiff TV and Shameless’ Ethan Kutkosky, to name a few. The limited collections typically sell out within days.

“The designs are a way of expressing myself through clothing,” says Jason. “I intend for these designs not just to satisfy me, but everyone who wears it. The capsules are like a song, the person who wrote it normally gleans from experience but everyone can relate to the lyrics.”

Following a successful year for his clothing line came the resurgence of J-Frost as a musician, as he was commissioned by the WWE to record three wrestler entrance theme songs for the WWE’s banner acts, Team B.A.D., Street Profits, and Jason Jordan. The songs are played to packed stadiums nightly and have racked up a collective of nearly 3 Million views on YouTube.

That is just part of his hustle. In addition to making a name in the apparel space, Jason is also able to talk the talk when it comes to brand collaborations across the creative spectrum from music, apparel, and has even made a foray into the food space. He currently has regular menu items named after him at two Bay Ridge, Brooklyn staples, Charlie’s Sandwich shop, and Leo’s. Ask for The Frost Sandwich at Charlie’s or The Frostellini Pasta at Leo’s.

Looking forward, Jason has his sights aimed at expanding his clothing run to be featured in brick and mortars, putting out an official single, and continuing to work alongside Greg to continue to push their creative boundaries into the limitless beyond.
